Three ages of Opinel knife. I was given my first Opinel by a friend at around the age of 12. (the knife at the bottom of the picture). Subsequently I bought the top most knife in Cardiff to replace the first which was temporarily lost. Most recently the pale wood, stainless steel version was purchased in northern Spain last year.

These knives are a well known, cheap to buy item, but are so nice to use and good to look at too. 

So far the stainless steel one has held an excellent edge and is carried everywhere I go. The carbon blades can be very sharp, but take more care in achieving this.
